ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — A Baldwin County man is facing burglary and kidnapping, along with drug and other charges, while two others are facing obstruction charges after arrests made Wednesday.

According to a report from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, an unidentified female called 911 Wednesday night seeking assistance. The call ended with the victim screaming when another person broke in and hung up the phone.

The call led officers to a mobile home on County Road 62 North, which deputies identified as belonging to Trudy Sue Alms, 51.

When deputies arrived on the scene the suspect, later identified as Victor Lamar Daughtery, 40, had fled with the unidentified victim.

Further investigation led deputies to Daughtery’s home, where they found Tammy Lynn James, who was identified as Daughtery’s common law wife. Officers conducted a consent search and found a working meth lab on the property, along with meth, a short barrel shotgun pistol and with other weapons.

Other evidence was also found, officers said, that showed Daughtery had possibly kept the victim there for a period of time.

Deputies were able to locate Daughtery and the victim in his vehicle and began pursuit. The chase ended on County Road 87 when the suspect allegedly attempted to crash into the pursuing patrol car with his Chevy Blazer.

The suspect was tazed and taken into custody.

Daughtery, whose address on the Baldwin County Corrections Department website is listed as being on Daughtery Lane in Loxley, was arrested and charged with first degree manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, drug trafficking, possession of marijuana, second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony attempt to elude, first degree assault, second degree kidnapping and first degree burglary. He is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Jail.

James, 46, whose address is listed on the Baldwin County Department of Corrections website as being on County Road 87 in Robertsdale, was charged with obstructing government operations, along with manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking charges. She is being held at the Baldwin County Jail on a $1,027,000 bond.

Alms, whose address is listed on the Baldwin County Department of Corrections website is listed as being on County Road 83 North, Elberta, was arrested on obstruction of government operations charges for being uncooperative in identifying the Daughtery and the victim. She was released on a $1,000 bond.

Lt. Tony Nolfe and Cpl. Randy Younce conducted the investigation for the Sheriff’s Department. Narcotics officers assisted with the lab.

The victim was taken to South Baldwin E.R. for minor treatment. The suspect was taken to North Baldwin Infirmary for minor treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible for everyone involved.
