BAY MINETTE, Ala. — In an effort to update records and properly identify qualifications for homestead exemptions, the Baldwin County Revenue Commissioner’s Office will be mailing approximately 7,000 letters today to Baldwin County senior citizen property owners.
The letter will explain in detail the instructions property owners should take to provide necessary information to the Baldwin County Revenue Commission in order to continue to receive their current homestead exemptions. The letter will also explain what information is needed for eligible senior citizens to receive additional homestead exemptions based on their age and taxable income.
Only the applicable homeowner who receives the letter will be required to provide documentation listed within the letter relating to his/her homestead exemption.
Property owners will have until May 2 to submit the needed information identified within the letter to the Baldwin County Revenue Commission. Failure to provide the required information will result in the removal of homestead exemptions.
For more information, contact the Baldwin County Revenue Commission Assessment Department at (251) 937-0245.
