BAY MINETTE, Alabama - Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack is scheduled today to ask Commissioners for a new, two-story administration building adjacent to the existing site on Hand Avenue in Bay Minette to replace the current facility which he said has water leakage and mold issues.
The Tuesday meeting will be at the Fairhope Satellite Courthouse at 8:15 a.m.
Mack will have architectural representative on hand during the meeting to provide plans for the project, according to county records.
“I am asking to formally open the discussion with the Baldwin County Commission regarding this project,” Mack said in county correspondence. “The Sheriff's Office Administration is currently housed in a building which remained after the partial demolition of the old Bay Minette Police Department. This building continues to have issues regarding water leaks, heating and cooling, and mold and mildew problems.”
Mack said a preliminary design is complete, but no cost estimates.
