Baldwin County Sheriff's Office recognizes outstanding officers

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office handed out more than 120 awards, including three Officer of the Year awards during a recognition ceremony held Friday, Jan. 29 at the Baldwin County Central Annex in Robertsdale.

“I want to recognize everyone for their hard work over the last year,” said Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack. “We have the greatest employees serving the citizens of Baldwin County. I’ve said many times, you do all the work and I get all the credit. Everyone here deserves all the recognition.

Service awards were handed out during Friday’s ceremony, including three awards for BCSO Employee of the Year, Sgt. Tali Graves for corrections; communications officer Kevin Davis for administrative/support; and Deputy Jessi Brannan for law enforcement.

Graves and Davis were also recognized as Employees of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2015, along with Deputy Austin Welch for law enforcement.

In addition Mack presented the Supporting the Star award to a community partner to Teresa Hicks of Teresa’s BBQ of Bay Minette.

Mack also recognized 61 BCSO deputies and officers for completing online training through the Institute for Credible Leadership Development.

Service pins for 5-, 10-, 15-, 20- and 25-year employees and the department recognized 2015 retirees.

Service awards and certificates were given to:

5-year: Rich Gingras, Cheri Palmer, Cole Pierce, Justin Correa, Charlotte May, Jelene Packer, John Byrne, Shavauhia Snight and Jim McGuff.

10-year: Jed Davis, Shelley Dunn, Mike Gaull, Kim Kelly, Daniel Fleming, Lana Mitchell, Brenda McArthur, Andre Reid Jr., Jerrod Sheffield, David Mock, Jessica Wilson, Stephen Arthur, Andy Ashton, Ora Dee McReynolds and Kim Klos.

15-year: Lee Paul, Randy White, Troy Bookout, Bill Crull, David Winston and Wallace McCall.

20-year: Edward Scott, Bret Lankford, Marylin Sheetz and Kitty Barksdale.

25-year: John Garner and Debbie Dearmon.

Additional awards presented Friday included:

Corrections Center Command Services Award, presented by Maj. Jimmy Milton:  Officer Mia Gains.

Civil Command Service Award, presented by Capt. Bob King: Deputy Bob Correa.

Investigator of the Year, presented by Lt. Darren Williamson: Deputy Austin Jones.

Drug Task Force Officer of the Year, presented by Lt. Clint Cadenhead: Officer Tony Clark.

Uniform Services Deputy of the Year, presented by Capt. Bob King: Deputy Ryan Delmore.

Top Gun, presented by Chief Deputy Col. Charlie Jones: Deputy Rob Lindell.

Shining Star, presented by Mack and Jones: Deputy Jason Kolbe.
