Habitat for Humanity is ecumenical housing ministry working to end substandard housing in Baldwin County. Families selected must put in 400 hours of sweat equity, pay a $500 down payment, attend budgeting and homeowner workshops, and be willing to partner with Habitat. When the home is completed, the partner family has a manageable mortgage payment due to a no interest loan. Habitat will soon begin its 68th home. For more information on volunteer opportunities please contact the Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Coordinator, Stacey Jeffcoat at 747-1567.
