"font-size: small;">Dr. Roger Jones will conduct the concert featuring USM professor Dr. Lawrence Gwozdz on the premier performance of “Quest: A Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone and Band” by Roger Jones. Dr. Gwozdz has been professor of saxophone at the University of Southern Mississippi for more than 25 years, and has performed in many major cities in North America and Europe, including a solo recital at Weill (Carnegie) Recital Hall in 1995.
"font-size: small;">The band will perform selections including “The Force of Destiny Overture” by Giuseppe Verdi, “Gandalf” from “Symphony No. 1” by Johan de Meij, “Intermezzo Sinfonico” from “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni, “Nobles of the Mystic Shrine” by John Philip Sousa, “Star Wars — The Marches” by John Williams, “Entry of the Gladiators” by Julius Fucik and “West Side Story Selections” by Leonard Bernstein.
