ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- The Third Annual Bama Coast Cruise will be setting up at the Wharf Resort and Marina on Thursday with the show open to spectators Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28.

This car show is open to any and all custom, classic and specialty vehicles. Car enthusiasts from all across the southeast are expected to gather and share their love of everything automotive.

“Other states have car shows that bring in people from all over and contribute to the local economy through hotel stays, gas purchases, eating in the local restaurants and shopping at local stores,” says Sonny McLean, President of MotorSports Productions, Inc., and producer of Bama Coast Cruise. “I believe Bama Coast Cruise can have a huge economic impact as we continue to grow and bring in participants that have never before experienced the beauty of the Alabama Gulf Coast”.

McLean says there will be Vendors, a Swap Meet and activities to keep participants cruising the Alabama Coast for the three-day event.

One exciting new feature at the event will be a 1971 Mustang called “Pegasus” built by Goolsby’s Customs and owned by Buddy Shores of Bessemer.

This awesome, totally rebuilt Mustang is featured in a six-page spread in the latest issue of Hot Rod Magazine. Jonathan Goolsby of Goolsby’s Customs will be at the show Friday and Saturday to talk to all the hot rodders as they preview his latest custom creation.

Among scheduled activities for participants is a gathering at Shucker’s Restaurant on Thursday evening, a $1,000 Poker Run on Friday, April 27, and daily Cash Prize Drawings.

Friday will also be the day the vehicles will be judged and the Top 25 will be announced.

From 6 p.m.–10 p.m. the Top 25 will be featured at a “street party” on Main Street at The Wharf. There will be “Hot Rods, Music and Dancing in the Streets” and the public is invited to come out and enjoy all this at no charge.

Saturday will also be a big day, in addition to the Vendors, the Swap Meet and all the beautiful vehicles on display, the Grand Finale for the event will be a police escorted Parade Cruise Ride at 4:30 p.m. along the gorgeous beaches of the Gulf Coast.

Bama Coast Cruise believes in working with the local community and in that spirit they have partnered with The Lighthouse to help raise money for this much needed organization. The Lighthouse is a local organization committed to providing support, preventing violence and promoting justice for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
