Barbara Helen Allen, 83, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Spanish Fort.
She was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. She was a member of the Friends of the Daphne Public Library and the Line Dancers club and the choir at Westminster Village. She wrote, directed and acted in a Westminster murder mystery dinner theater event for the residents at Westminster Village. She was a longtime employee (retired) of the Senior Citizen’s Services Inc. in Mobile.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Allen Sr. of Spanish Fort; five daughters, Marilyn McKellar of Charlotte, N.C., Barbara “Taffy” Stephens and Claudia Jones, both of Wales, UK, Nancy Anderson of Daphne, Wendy Allen of Pittsboro, N.C.; step-daughter, Deborah Walters of Jacksonville, Fla., step-son, Ronald E. Allen Jr. of San Gabriel, Calif.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at Pete Allen Room at Westminster Village, Spanish Fort.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
