Barbara Kelley Sakellarides, age 78, a native of Sumter County, Alabama, a former resident of York, Alabama, Huntsville, Alabama, and a current resident of Montrose, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 with family by her side.
Barbara was a second grade school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Sakellarides of Montrose, Alabama; her sister, Trannie Massingill and her husband Sam of Fairhope, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held from Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Birmingham, Alabama, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 10 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the service time.
Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Breast Cancer Research at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, 300 Alumni Circle, Mobile, AL 36688, www.usahealthsystem.com/makeagift.
