A. Gordon Barnhill Sr., 80, a native and lifelong resident of Loxley, died Monday, April 28, 2008.

He was a lifelong farmer including pecan, timber, row crops and cattle and an avid sportsman, especially hunting and golfing. He was a member of the Loxley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean Dean Barnhill of Loxley; daughters, Mary Lou (Bob) McMillan of Stockton and Jeanie (Charlie) Jones of Richardson, Texas; son, Gordon (Ginger) Barnhill of Loxley; brothers, Wendell Barnhill of Fairhope, Maston Barnhill of Loxley and Ben Barnhill of Fairhope; seven grandchildren, Robert McMillan Jr., Jeanne McMillan Yarbrough, Phillip Barnhill, Michael Barnhhill, Andrew Barnhill, Doug Jones and Jordan Jones; and one great-grandchild, Hector McMillan.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 1 at the Loxley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Batchelor officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley.

Pallbearers were, Roger Barnhill Jr., Daniel Barnhill, Roger Barnhill III, Greg Barnhill, Bobby Barnhill and Tim Barnhill.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Loxley United Methodist Church Building Fund, Holly Street, Loxley, AL 36551.

Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
