DAPHNE — The Daphne Public Library invites area teens to participate in the Step up to the Plate @ your library® program sponsored by the American Library Association and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
The program encourages teens (9 to 18 years old) to visit their public library, check out a baseball book and describe how their favorite character inspired them.
All essays must be submitted by Sept. 1. Essays can be submitted by mail or online at www.ala.org/baseball.
Participants can win a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Daphne Public Library encourages teens to come by and choose a book from the baseball book display and pick up the official rules for the essay contest. For further information call the library at 621-2818.
Step Up to the Plate @ your library® program is part of The Campaign for America’s Libraries to promote the value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century.
