William Thomas Bass, 83, a native of Bay Minette and a resident of Stapleton, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at William F. Green State Veterans Home.
He was a self-employed drywall finisher and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a son, Woodie Kevin Bass.
Survivors include Jeanette Byrd Bass of Stapleton; six children, Tommy (Venda) Bass, Rebecca Ann “Becky” (Wayne) Tidwell, Julia Marie (Joe) Hicks, Laura Bell Bass and William Leon “Bill” Bass, all of Stapleton, and Lora Elizabeth (Tim) Barnhill of Loxley; 24 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 11 at Stapleton Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 12 at the church with the Rev. Alan Lawhorn and the Rev. J.P. Lambert officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Bass Jr., Jared Bass, Jody Bass, Blake Rider, Jeremy Hicks and Brandon Parker.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
