Doris Northrup Bateman, 93, born June, 5, 1915 in Eleskia, a resident of Hattiesburg, Miss., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
She was a former resident of Bay Minette; a retired elementary school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church in Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Lambert Northrup and Bertha Cole Northrup and Her husband, Martin Karr Bateman, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Martin (Martha A.) Bateman Jr. of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two granddaughters, Mandy (Michael) Williamson and Karra (Bryan) Sherman of Sumrall, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Tanis and Kelly Williamson, Makayla and Madison Sherman; and sister, Sue Brantley of Pensacola, Fla.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
