Bay Minette declares state of emergency in widespread flooding, street closings

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The city of Bay Minette, under the advisement of City Emergency Management Director Phil Bryars, has declared a local state of emergency for the city.

 The declaration of a local state of emergency allows city to declare an area be an emergency/disaster area for the purpose of exercising necessary emergency powers and expenditure of available resources, and requesting aid, assistance, and relief programs and funds available from the State in order to act in the best interest of the safety of the citizens within the area.

Advisories and information concerning the status of highways and road passages is as follows:

CLOSED

1 East Hurricane and Moran.

1 U.S. 31 North and Mixon.

1 South White and Brady.

1 Daphne and East Ellis.

1 Taylor and Townsend.1 Grove Street, Lower Street, Pecan Street, Courthouse Square.

1 8th Street between Mixon and Thomley.

1 Dobson and Railroad Tracks.

1 Nicholsville and Pine Grove East Bridge.

1 Daphne Road and Hurricane.
