Travis of Bay Minette went to the American Legion Friday night, he
thought it was simply to enjoy a meal with friends and family
members. Instead, he was surprised with an award ceremony in his
honor.
Alabama Employer Support for the National Guard and Reserve’s
Highest Seven Seals Award and Above and Beyond Award and the
American Legion’s Making a Difference Award Friday.
Veterans’ Specialist Nicholas Bowen, who spearheaded the brief
ceremony, Travis’ awards were a result of his treatment of a
relatively new employee during the summer. It seems that Travis,
owner of A-1 Air Conditioning and Heating, was supportive of Johnny
Morris’ taking leave after working with the company only three
months to take care of his son who had been severely wounded while
serving the Marines overseas in July.
