Bay Minette police officers are looking for Kenneth Mason, wanted on warrants for second-degree assault and second-degree burglary.

Capt. Clarence Crook said Mason allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s residence Aug. 1 and assaulted her.

“She had swelling on her hand and a large bruise on the side of her face,” Crook said. He said a pipe, believed to have been used to hit the woman, was recovered at the scene.

Crook will present evidence to the grand jury regarding possible further charges of theft and unlawful imprisonment.

The victim told police Mason broke into her home and locked the door, refusing to let her leave. Additionally, she said he took $250 from her purse before leaving.

Mason fled before police arrived. He is believed to still be in the Bay Minette area. Anyone with information on Mason’s whereabouts is asked to call the department at (251) 580-2559 or the anonymous tip line at (251) 580-1847.
