Bay Minette investigators are looking for a suspect responsible for a burglary at the Tom Thumb convenience store on U.S. Highway 31 South, across from Faulkner State Community College.

Sgt. Lester Banfield said at around 2 a.m. Aug. 1, an unidentified man entered the store and took 45 packs of cigarettes.

“He smashed through the front door, with what we’re not sure. He then hopped the counter, helped himself to the cigarettes and left,” Banfield said.

The suspect was caught on tape, and police are hoping someone will know the man and contact the department.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department at (251) 580-2559 or the anonymous tip line at (251) 580-1847.
