BAY MINETTE — Effective in January, the Bay Minette Public Works Department will set a new schedule for debris pick-up that will follow council districts.

Regular trash pick-up will keep its schedule of Monday and Thursday on the west side of Hand Avenue and South U.S. 31 and Tuesday and Friday on the east side of Hand Avenue and South U.S. 31.

Beginning with the new year, however, the debris pick-up for limbs, trees, mattresses and other items will be handled Monday through Friday in order of the council districts: Monday, District 1; Tuesday, District 2; Wednesday, District 3; Thursday, District 4; and Friday, District 5.

Unsure of which district you reside? Go to cityofbayminette.org to find the link.

John Bower, public works director, also reminds everyone about City Ordinance, Sec. 14-33: “Tree surgeons, landscapers etc., duty of removal. It shall be the responsibility of all fence companies, tree surgeons, nurseries and landscape contractors or any individual or company doing such work on private property to remove from the premises all residue and rubbish resulting from said work.”

To report a problem, or for more information, call the Public Works Department at 251-580-1848.
