BAY MINETTE, Ala. — A Bay Minette zoning ordinance could be finalized at this evening’s Bay Minette City Council meeting.
The council will hear a second reading of ordinance No. 959.
“The planning commission uses it to determine the zoning of new constructions and remodeling in the city,” Bay Minette City Clerk Rita Findley said in a telephone interview.
The ordinance first passed through the Bay Minette City Planning Commission before going before a public hearing passing a first reading in February.
Tonight’s reading will be the council’s second reading of the ordinance, “which is the final reading,” Findley said.
Also tonight, the council will consider improvements to the most recently constructed fire station on D’Olive Street. However, Findley pointed out that the improvements are not major undertakings.
“They didn’t put gutters on the roof,” she said, “and that have a few other little things to do to it.
The Bay Minette City Council will hold its work session at 5 p.m. in City Hall, which will be followed by its regular meeting at 6 p.m.
