MOBILE — BayFest organizers are pleased to announce that Oct. 6 will be jam-packed with classic rock artists at BayFest 2007.

The night will begin with a 5:15 performance from Foghat, followed by the Blue Oyster Cult at 7. Bad Company with Brian Howe will take the stage at 8:45, and the grand finale, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, will start at 10:30.

All performances will take place on the AT&T/IP Casino, Resort and Spa Stage.

Best known for hits such as “I Just Want to Make Love to You” and “Slow Ride,” Foghat has been playing their pumped-up brand of boogie-rock to audiences since 1971. With more than 15 albums under their belt, the legendary music of this group has continued to entertain audiences throughout the decades.

The current group members, Roger Earl, Craig Macgregor, Bryan Bassett and Charlie Huhn, released Foghat Live II in 2006.

Spanning three decades, Blue Oyster Cult got its start in the late ’60s on Long Island, N.Y. as the Soft White Underbelly. The group is best known for three songs: “Don't Fear,” “The Reaper Burnin’ for You” and “Veteran of the Psychic Wars.”

Blue Oyster Cult has sold over 14 million albums worldwide.

Bad Company has put its indelible stamp on rock ‘n’ roll with a straight-ahead, no-frills musical approach that has resulted in the creation of some of the most timeless rock anthems ever. Brian Howe has fronted the band since the late 1980s.

This group has made a name for itself as one of the most acclaimed rock bands in history.

Few acts boast a wider appeal than Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The group is beloved by punks, indie rockers, pop lovers, metal heads, classic rockers, radicals and conservatives alike.

Jett and her band have a brand new album out, “SINNER,” which is bound to delight and surprise even the biggest fans. She is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of her record label, Blackheart Records.

“I Love Rock and Roll” has become an anthem that represents the epitome of the ’80s.

Weekend passes for the festival are $35, and are available at www.bayfest.com, local Regions and Whitney banks, Circle K stores and IP Casino, Resort and Spa in Biloxi.

Single-day tickets are $25 each, and will be available at the gates on the day of the show. Children 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
