DAPHNE, Ala. — Bayside Academy inducted the inaugural class into its Academic and Professional Society on Feb. 3. The ceremony was held in the theater of the Pilot Center on campus.

The candidates were selected for induction by a selection committee of alumni. Six of the inductees were Bayside alumni and two were former teachers.

Those inducted were Kimberly Hodgson Jardine (’76) of Daphne; Dr. C. Douglas Harrell III (’81) of Fairhope; Heidi Schultz Adams (’85) of Austin, Texas; retired Cmdr. Robert B. duMont III (’85) of Daphne; Dr. Richard J. Hatchett IV (’85) of Bethesda, Md.; and Albert Watkins Key Jr. (’88) of Mobile.

Honorary inductees were Virginia Stallings of Excelsior Springs, Mo. and the late Kelton G. Tidwell.

The purpose of the Bayside Academic and Profession Society is to recognize those persons who have modeled scholarship, community and service in their chosen careers, and who exemplify the spirit and character of Bayside Academy.

The honorees and their families toured the campus and were guests at a luncheon prior to the ceremony.

Headmaster Thomas J. Johnson welcomed the guests and Director of Alumni Mary Dumas introduced each inductee and his accomplishments to the audience. Past and present board members, parents, faculty and upper school students were in attendance.
