DAPHNE, Ala. — Bayside Academy opened the 2011 baseball season with a doubleheader sweep at home Tuesday in Daphne. The Admirals won two in 11 combined innings, 11-0 in five and 12-2 in six over the Blacksher Bulldogs.

"Our guys came out and made good plays," said Bayside head coach Doug Leffard. "We still have a lot of work to do, but our pitchers threw strikes, gave our defense a chance to make plays and that's the name of the game: Good defense. I'm proud of the effort. We just want to improve and get better each day."
