DAPHNE, Ala.—Jasmine Lee has been chosen as Miss Gulf Coast for International Junior Miss at the upcoming 2011 international finals held in Nashville. She is a part of a select group of young women who will participate in the International Scholarship Competitions, July 4-10.
Jasmine, daughter of Thomas and Gina Lee of Daphne, is a student at Bayside Academy.
The International Junior Miss Scholarship Pageant is organized to encourage positive achievement by helping to nurture and build self-awareness in young women. The program also awards scholarships to individuals based on achievement throughout the week of competition and service throughout the year as an International Junior Miss titleholder.
Scholarships are awarded in each division — up to $5,000 per division. Awards are provided for academic achievement, volunteer service and spirit of participation. Additional scholarships are provided for excellence in talent, modeling, public speaking and other optional categories totaling more than $1,000 in additional scholarship opportunities per division — bringing the total scholarships offered this year at the International Finals to nearly $40,000.
