DAPHNE, Ala. — Bayside Academy recently held its 19th annual John A. Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament sponsored by Treadwell Honda at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope. Thirty-two teams headed to the green for friendly competition and helped raise more than $25,000.

The gross division champion team, representing J.H. Wright & Associates, included Kent Broom, Shannon Millette, Greg Pierce and Mark Wright. The net division first-place team, representing Treadwell Honda, included Jon Dreadmen, Ron Getto, Ben Jackson and Greg Vance. Finishing second in the gross division was the team of Gross Eaton Barnard & Associates, which included Eaton Barnard, Terry Breitung, Todd Strohmeyer and Andy Williams. Second-place net division winner was Great Kitchens, which included Ron Coyle, Tim Sears, Duane Smith and Ron Stevens. Other winners included the third-place gross team of Cardiology Associates, represented by Joe Allen, Brian Dearing, Matt Stinebaugh and Jim Storey, and the third place net team of Flemming Buhl, William Buhl and Tommy Cox. Jarret Revon took home the award for closest to the pin, Greg Vance won the longest drive in the men’s division, and Carol McKeithen won the longest drive in the ladies’ division.

Every year, proceeds from the tournament are used for school improvements or special projects determined by Bayside’s current needs. This year, the tournament paid tribute to Bayside student and varsity soccer player Katie Hamlin, who has acute respiratory distress syndrome. Funding from this year’s tournament went toward the Lady Admirals Soccer team and the purchase of a defibrillator for Bayside’s campus. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds was donated to the Hamlin family to offset some of Katie’s medical expenses.
