POINT CLEAR, Ala. — Bayside junior Caroline Beebe fired a 37 to medal as well as lead the Lady Admirals to their first victory on the links this year.

Her team scored a 132 to defeat St. Paul's 184 and Mobile Christian's 192 at Lakewood, the Lady Admirals’ home course.

Bayside coach Samantha Leffard said her team was off to a good start

“The first match is always a little tough. They have been practicing so long and they’re just a little nervous and excited and there are just a lot of emotions going into the first match.

“But this is probably the lowest first-match score we've ever had. The girls have been working hard and are excited about the year. Everybody played well to make it a team effort. We’re all very excited about this year.”

Leffard said Beebe who has one individual state crown to her credit is always striving to win and help her teammates to win.

“Caroline has that drive to do her best and she really competes against herself out there,” She added. “She has got a great work ethic and she just wants to post her best score. She did get into some trouble with an out-of-bounds on one hole and got out well enough to still make 37 and that’s just experience paying off and all her own hard work. She can recover when she does make a mistake and keep going.”

The Lady Admirals play next in the Mississippi National Invitational March 14.
