BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Baldwin County High School is launching a new program designed to strengthen the bond between the school and its alumni. The purpose of the “Tiger for Life” Alumni Association is to promote BCHS Athletics and other programs such as band and the fine arts, officials said.
The official announcement will come at a Feb. 21 alumni dinner in Bay Minette.
BCHS Athletic Director Nathan McDaniel said they are excited to launch the alumni program with the purpose of cultivating relationships between the school and its growing worldwide community of alumni.
“We have huge plans for this program and are very excited about the opportunities that it will open up for our student athletes along with the alumni of BCHS,” McDaniel said. “It is our hope to draw in as many alumni as we possibly can to reconnect them with their alma mater and the wonderful things that are happening at Baldwin County High School.”
The school will hold a Tiger for Life Alumni Dinner at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette. The cost is $50 per person and a special keynote speaker will be announced soon. Tickets will soon be available at the school and Bay Minette City Hall.
McDaniel said school officials will be announcing several events at the Alumni Dinner including different levels of membership to TFL and holding a job expo that will connect business owners and professionals with rising junior and senior athletes who are going to college. McDaniel said this will offer those students some “direction from someone who has been in their shoes.”
Memberships will include regular newsletters to help keep alumni aware of activities at the school and the opportunities to be involved to “strengthen alumni bonds of fellowship, professional association and high school affiliation,” McDaniel said. “It also leverages the resources, talents, and initiatives of alumni and friends to advise, guide, advocate for and support the association and Baldwin County High School in achieving their respective missions and goals.”
The dinner will also serve as a time for alumni to reconnect with one another while focusing on the future. “We have a proud history and tradition and combining that with our current and future alumni will be very beneficial to everything that we are trying to accomplish here,” McDaniel said.
