BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County High School Tiger Band closed out its year with a banquet. During the program, new captains and officers were introduced and awards were presented to some deserving members.
Those recognized were: Haven Graham, John Philip Sousa Award; Brandon Simmons, Wesley Rabren Horizon Award; Niah Smith, Joe Reimer Scholarship; and Lizzie Hall, Joe Reimer Scholarship Award.
The captains and drum major for 2016-17 are Drum Major: Destiny Miskel; Percussion: Traise Stienstraw, Will William Steward; Woodwinds: Tori Paige Clark; Woodwind: Courtney Stewart; Brass: Evan White and Loren Robinson.
The new band president is Tori Paige Clark and fellow officers are Brianna Coffman, sophomore representative; Bethany Driggers, junior representative; and Dalton Cook, senior representative.
Band awards were presented to: Loren Robinson, Most Outstanding Brass; Shardonnay Richardson, Most Outstanding Percussion; Holly Bates, Most Improved; Lauren Presley, Best Attitude; and Courtney Stewart, Most Outstanding Woodwind.
The band's Auxiliary teams were also honored and captains were announced. For the Tigerettes, Amanda Eversman is captain and Trinity Brown is co-captain. Heading up the Tiger Guard are McKenzie Moody, captain, and Madelyn Lions, co-captain.
Auxiliary team awards were presented to: Amanda Eversman, Most Outstanding Tigerette; C.C. Long, Tigerette Rookie of the Year; Madelyn Lyons, Tiger Guard Rookie of the Year; and Bethany Driggers, Most Outstanding Tiger Guard.
The Tiger Band is under the direction of Jeff Lepa and Josh Williams. The Auxiliary coach is Elizabeth Bridges Byrd.
