Beatrice Harriett Lamon (Ford) passed away peacefully from this earth on Feb. 6, 2016 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, Okla. after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Turtleriver Township Bemidji, Md. to Roy William and Ester Helen Craver Lamon.

She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade in the Bemidji area.

On Feb. 25, 1946, she married her beloved husband of 60-plus years, Dale Warren Ford in Riverside, Iowa. They farmed in the Riverside area till they moved to Perdido Beach, Ala. where Dale took a job working in the Pensacola, Fla. Naval Shipyards until his retirement.

Dale and Bea were very active with the Volunteer Fire Department. They enjoyed traveling, entertaining and polka dancing. Bea loved her dolls, some she made and some were purchased and also enjoyed crafting and baking.

Bea is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Godin of Bemidji, Minn., Ruth Weis and husband Bill of Bemidji, Minn.; one brother, Albert Lamon and wife Patty of Enid, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Dale; three brothers, Cedrick Lamon, Bryce Lamon and Harold Lamon; and parents, Roy and Ester Lamon.

Bea will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Perdido Beach, Ala. Volunteer Fire Department, 8450 Escambia Ave., Perdido Beach, AL 36530.
