Ben Burrus Briggs, 88, a resident of Foley, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Mr. Briggs was an exemplary husband and father. His kindness and willingness to help anyone in need was evident to all who knew him.
Mr. Briggs and his late wife, Margaret, were active members of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and many civic organizations. A love of family, church and the Atlanta Braves filled his days of retirement.
He also was owner of Briggs Builders located in Spanish Fort, and in later years was the construction vocational teacher at Robertsdale High School.
He is survived by two brothers, Richard Douglas Briggs of Jefferson, Ga. and Lynn Thomas Briggs of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Cynthia Clevenstine of Wexford, Pa., Katherine Howell of Danielsvile, Ga. and Patti Thomas of Round Rock, Texas; a son, David Briggs of Gulf Shores; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Arrangements to be made at a later date by the Briggs family.
