Ben Dudley Joiner, 82, a resident of Stockton, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1931 in Rabun. He retired after 35 years of civil service, where he worked at Brookley Field in Mobile and Pensacola Naval Air Station.

Prior to his civil service he served four years in the United States Air Force, where he received the National Defense Service Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annie Lucile Joiner of Stockton; six children, Steve (Linda) Joiner, Barbara (Gene) Milstead, Rose (Elbert) Stacey, Marlene (Jessie) Bell, Rita (Tommy) Roberts and Teresa (Henry) Fisher, all of Bay Minette; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Preston (Clarice) Joiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Joiner; one brother, J.C. Joiner; and one sister, Myrtle Hudson.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at noon, at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, from 6 until 9 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Merle Milstead, Benjamin Milstead, J.D. Bell, Jarrod Fisher, Johnathan Smart and DeVan Bryars.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Merle Milstead Jr. and Walter Taylor.
