Ben S. Holley, 80, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at his residence in Foley. He was born in Alexander City, Ala. and was raised in Montgomery, Ala.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he attended and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in business administration. Mr. Holley later graduated from the University of West Florida receiving a degree in accounting and a MBA degree. He was retired from the U.S. Civil Service.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Malone Holley, of Foley; one son, Robert (Joan) Holley, of Deltona, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Holley Bertschi, of Williamsburg, Va.; and his beloved grandson Bill Holley of Deltona; his brother, Pete Holley; many nieces and nephews; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Cynthia Malone of Gulf Shores.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and a son, John M. Holley.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Chapel on Sunday, Aug. 14, at noon.
