Bernice B. Malone, 90, a native of Citronelle who lived there until 2007 when she moved to Gulf Shores, passed away at home June 10, 2014.
She was a lifelong member of Citronelle United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, working in her garden and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J. Malone Sr.; grandson, Michael L. Malone; great-granddaughter, Leah Malone; parents, Vander and Corine Byrd; sister, Doris Erdman; and brothers, Charles Byrd and Wallace Byrd.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Doughty and Clarice Fretwell; son, Herbert J. (Bessie) Malone Jr.; seven grandchildren, Krissy Fretwell Blake, Paul (Jill) Doughty, Michelle Doughty, Karen (Jeff) Deakins, Nicole (John) Turberville, Wilton (Naomi) Fretwell and Jessica (Michael) Newton; 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan Blake, Rhett Blake, Malone Doughty, Sarah Deakins, Cole Deakins, Caroline Turberville, Mackenzie Morrison, John Bryars Turberville, Grant Fretwell and Aubrey Newton; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Citronelle United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lauren Helveston officiating.
A visitation will be held an hour before the service.
Interment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle.
