Beware of the liberal legislators

The headline of the guest editorial, “Pelosi’s comments speak volumes,” published Feb. 7 in your newspaper, reveals the unsoundness or disorder of her mind in defending, during a TV interview, her intention and those of House Democrats, to include more than $300 million for Planned Parenthood and contraceptives in the so-called “stimulus bill.”

I saw her say unapologetically, “Well, the family-planning services reduce cost … One of the initiatives, contraceptives, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”

Certain politicians on the left view growing population as an economic burden for government. The growing population is claimed to also hurt the environment. Beside killing babies in the name of health and environment, who will be next: the aged and infirm? I just heard on TV that this stimulus bill authorizes the government to control the marketing of medicine deemed too costly.

It is widely reported that Speaker Pelosi was tasked to draft the bill, which ended up as a farce because it became a grab bag of pet Democratic projects. It failed to win bi-partisan support as all Republicans voted against the House bill. Only three senators voted for the Senate bill and are now in conference.

During the Democrat Convention, Nancy Pelosi was asked about her power as presiding officer of the convention. She replied that her power as Speaker of the House was even greater. That revealed again Speaker Pelosi’s delusions of grandeur and lust for power.

Beware of the liberal legislators in power. The majority Democrats have more votes than the minority Republicans in power. The Democrats can pass any bill they want despite their claims of seeking nonpartisanship. I have heard President Obama say many times that he will approve bills supporting elective abortions. I just heard on TV that the stimulus bill authorizes the government to control the marketing of medicine deemed too costly. Isn’t that a trifecta against human life or quality of life determinations?
