Wesley Scott “Wes” Bilbo, 20, a native of Lafayette, La., and a resident of Daphne, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Opelika.

He never met a stranger. His strength of character, maturity and spiritual gift of encouragement will be remembered most. Wes was deeply spiritual and always had his priorities in order; God, family, friends and school.

Before heading to Auburn he was an active leader and member of the Praise Band in the Youth Group at Eastern Shore Baptist Church. He was a 2005 Daphne High School graduate and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Auburn University where he was completing his Bachelor's Degree in building science. He loved being a member of the Pike brotherhood and participating in any outdoor activity.

Survivors include his parents Kent and Susan Bilbo of Daphne; sister, Lindsey Bilbo of Daphne; grandparents, Pat and I.B. Wash of Laurel, Miss., Ann and Don Bilbo of Purvis, Miss.; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18 at the Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19from the Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne with the Rev. Grant Barber and Youth Minister, Tim Rhoads officiating. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Daphne.
