Billy Alvis Darnell, 80, of Foley, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011.
He retired and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Corrine “Connie” Darnell of Foley; daughter, Mary Joyce of Boise, Idaho; two step-daughters, Michelle Zalesky of Minnesota and Diana Ligtenberg of Foley; two sons, Rick Darnell of Idaho and Roger Darnell of Texas; two sisters, Carolyn Therrel of Saraland and Mary Catherine Lawson of Texas; four brothers, Jimmy Darnell of Memphis, Tenn., Larry Darnell of Texas, Jackie Darnell of Alabama and David Darnell of Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31 at Christian Life Church in Foley. Private family interment with full military honors will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Fla., at a later date.
