John Wesley Bishop II, 20, a longtime resident of Fairhope, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009.

He was a volunteer with the Stockton Fire Department, where he helped design the new fire station and was one of the first fire fighters. He was a former member of the Fish River Volunteer Fire Department. He was an employee of the City of Fairhope.

He graduated from Baldwin County High School in 2007.

Survivors include his father, John W. Bishop of Fairhope; mother, Mary Beth Bishop of Summerdale; two brothers, Arthur Roy Bishop and Donald Harold Bishop, both of Fairhope; three sisters, Mary Ina Bishop, Shannon Bernice Bishop, Christina Annette Bishop, all of Fairhope; a very special friend, Jessica Ferrell of Rabun; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 27 from the funeral home chapel. Interment followed at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
