Gracie Claudean Davis Bishop, 79, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.
She was the founder of the Blue Marlin Resturant, a well known establishment in the Barnwell community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Otis Bishop; son, Donnie Bishop; sister, Lavada Cattrett; brothers, Eugene Davis and Virgil Davis.
Survivors include four children, George A. “Totty” (Paula) Bishop of Fairhope, Glynda Hamric of Magnolia Springs, Irene (Robert Jr.) Comalander of Fairhope, and Jeanette (Bruce) Burgin of Palmdale, Calif.; step-daughter, Nancy Spaller of Fairhope; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Kathryn (Fred) Nolte of Fairhope, Judy Burkett of Fairhope, Edith (Lester) Powell of Fairhope and Diane Devine of Bon Secour; brother, Charles (Mimi) Davis of Bon Secour; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1 at at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Brook-Cedron Cemetery.
