Kenneth Clarence Bixler, 67, a native and resident of Robertsdale, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
After serving 10 years in the U.S. Nuclear Navy, he was a civilian employee and retired from the New York State Police while living in upstate New York for over 43 years. Retiring to Robertsdale, he was a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as the presiding overseer of the Robertsdale congregation for two years before becoming ill.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Diana M. Bixler of Robertsdale; two daughters, Cheray Ellice Bixler and Kynsy Ellyn Bixler, both of Robertsdale; two sons, Joshua James Levi Bixler of Robertsdale and Kenneth Charles Bixler of Younkers, N.Y.; brother, Bernard Bixler of Foley; seven grandchildren; and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Robertsdale.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, P.O. Box 547, Silverhill, AL 36576.
