Caroline Emmons Blackman, 67, a native of Eagle, Mich., and a resident of Daphne for 21 years, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at a local hospital, after a 25 year battle with leukemia.

She was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.  She was an avid bird watcher who also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and travelling. She also enjoyed her needlework such as cross-stitch and knitting and was a member of Daphne United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvard and Donna Emmons; and a brother, Mark Emmons.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 49 years, Robbin Blackman of Daphne; two daughters, Lynette Marie (Al) Holk of Ponsford, Minn., and Deborah Lynn Blackman of Vadnis Heights, Minn.;  one grandson, Shaun Offerosky, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; and a sister, Jacqueline (Tim) Roberts Burnet, Texas.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16 at Daphne United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Rascoe officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alabama Gulf Coast Satellite Office of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2854 Old Shell Road, Mobile, AL  36607.
