Earl L. Blackwell, 88, a native of Jackson and a resident of Bon Secour, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Earl Blackwell; two brothers, Cecil Richard Blackwell and Jesse “Cotton” Blackwell; and a sister, Lorraine Beech.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Blackwell; a daughter, Pairzetty (Clarence) Bauer of Gulf Shores; two sisters, Willene Graham and Ramona “Dit” Plash, both of Mobile; brother, Pete Blackwell of Foley; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bon Secour. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 29, Bon Secour, AL 36511.
