SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Families on the Gulf Coast who elect to stay close to home for the Memorial Weekend holidays can enjoy a two-hour tour of the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta aboard Blakeley State Park’s 50-passenger pontoon boat Saturday.

The Delta Explorer departs the Blakeley Park dock on the Tensaw River at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 11:30 a.m. Along the route, the shallow draft boat tours remote and picturesque sites deep in the Delta. Plants, birds and the Delta alligators are sights easily viewed from the covered boat. The crew includes a narrator.

Tickets cost $22 for adults, $12 for children 6 to 12 and are free to children 4 to 5. They may be purchased at the gate Saturday on a first come-first serve basis or seating may be reserved by purchasing tickets in advance using major credit cards by calling 251-626-5581.
