Blanche West Hatter, a resident of Daphne passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012.
She was born on May 20, 1916 in McKenzie, Butler County, and married Forney King Hatter on June 12, 1938 in Greenville. They lived in Robertsdale until 1972 when they moved to Daphne. She was a member of the Fairhope Christian Church and the Tristan de Luna Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Lee and Omar Sylvester West; her husband, Forney King Hatter; grandson, Ronald L. (Lee) Weekley; great-grandson, Alton Bascom Hankins, IV, and her four younger siblings, Irene McVay, Leoma Wilkes, Billy West and Ina York Reid. She is survived by her three daughters, Melinda Frances (A.B.) Hankins of Rosinton; Lila Anne (Dennis) Fisk of Spanish Fort; Susan Irene (Edward) Crowson of Mobile; five grandchildren, Alton Bascom (Linda) Hankins, III of Rosinton; Christopher Ashley Hankins of Rosinton; Deborah Anne (Eric) Larkins of Alpharetta, Ga.; James Michael Odom of Spanish Fort; William Jason (Scott) Weekley of Fayetteville, Ark. and four great-grandchildren, Madalyn Lee Hankins, Christopher Ashley Hankins, Jr., Mary Scott Weekley and Anne Hatter Weekley. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the King Family Plot in Magnolia Cemetery, Greenville. A visitation was held Monday from Mack Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations for the Library Research Room of the Butler County AL Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc., P. O. Box 561, Greenville, AL 36037. Pallbearers are Alton Bascom Hankins, III, Christopher Ashley Hankins, James Michael Odom, William Jason (Scott) Weekley, Christopher Ashley Hankins, Jr., and Charles (Chuck) Eulie Keeffe.
