PENSACOLA, Fla. — A feature presentation at 10 a.m. by Russell Romanella, director of the International Space Station and Spacecraft Processing Directorate at John F. Kennedy Space Center, Fla., will highlight the Blast Off! Space Day event July 17, from 10 a.m.–1p.m., at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.

Additional free activities include hands-on exhibits such as a NASA glove box, paper rocket making and a launch contest, and sampling the always-popular astronaut ice cream.

The IMAX theater will also offer one free child admission with each paying adult for the noon showing of “HUBBLE.”

Blast Off! Space Day is free and open to the public.

More fun can be had at the museum exploring more than 150 vintage aircraft, testing your skills in the Top Gun Air Combat simulators, riding in the motion-based simulator, dining in the Cubi Bar Café or with the ultimate movie experience in the IMAX theater showing three films daily.

The National Naval Aviation Museum features free admission and a full slate of events throughout the year.

For a complete list of events, exhibits and attractions at the museum, visit www.navalaviationmuseum.org, or call the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation at (850) 453-2389 or (800) 327-5002.

The National Naval Aviation Museum is open daily from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
