Bobby Joe Lynam, 65, of Mableton, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga.

Lynam was born in Monroe County, and had been a resident of Georgia since 1974.

He was a member of Believers Church in Douglasville, Ga.

Mr. Lynam, an ironworker, owned and operated Lynam Steel Erectors for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gilbert Lynam and Lena McKinley Lynam.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Goins Lynam of Mableton, Ga.; his sons, Christopher Brian Lynam of Mableton, Ga. and Judah Smokey Lynam of Mableton, Ga.; his daughters, Lisa Jo Lynam McDonald and husband Anthony of Excel, Israel Joy Lynam Sheffield and husband Josh of Frisco City, and Shekinah Glori Lynam Stone and husband David of Mableton, Ga.; his brother, William “Bud” Lynam and wife Linda Ann of Mableton, Ga.; his sister, Hattie Pearl “Dollie” Griffis and husband Bill of Monroeville; and 17 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Monroe Chapel Cemetery.
