Bobby Sam Chancey, 80, a native of Level Plains, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014.

Mr. Chancey entered the military at age 17 by joining the United States Air Force. He served 20 years before retiring, and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Chancey enjoyed playing baseball while in the Air Force.

He then went to work with Walt Disney and retired a supervisor. A working man and a father of three children, Mr. Chancey earned his business degree from Jones College in Orlando, Fla.

He then took pleasure in his retirement in Alabama, enjoying golf, being an Atlanta Braves fan and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Margie S. Chancey; three daughters, Laura Chancey, Cindy (Bob) Massey and Kelly (Scott) Milroy; three sisters, Joyce Lopez, Patsy Mathews and Shirley Jones; six grandchildren, Kyle (Mary) Pelletier, Kara (Justin) Sorrells, Robby Massey, Randall Massey, Cameron Milroy and Preston Milroy; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Blake Pelletier.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home chapel in Robertsdale, with the Rev. Scotty Jernigan officiating.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Alabama, P.O. Box 9272, Mobile, AL 36691.
