LOXLEY, Ala. — The decomposed body of what appears to be a black male was discovered in a vacant lot in Loxley Thursday morning, April 30.
The cause of death is undetermined at this time. Forensic tests are being conducted, but Loxley police say they are not sure if the tests will reveal the cause of death.
The body was discovered by the property owner at 11 a.m.,” said Loxley police chief John Cason in an e-mail. Cason added that the preliminary examination of the body was “with identification found on his person.”
According to Cason, “The body was dressed in winter clothing and appears as though he had been there that long.”
According to published reports, the property owners were last on the lot to mow grass about seven months ago.
While foul play is not suspected at this time, anyone with information about the body is asked to call the Loxley Police Department at 964-6000.
