FOLEY, Alabama — Officials have not yet identified an individual whose body was recovered following a boating accident in the Weeks Bay/Fish River area Tuesday night.
State Troopers, along with several other local agencies, responded to a 911 call at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, said Trooper Jamie Maloy with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
According to reports, a boat carrying four passengers was traveling Fish River near the mouth of Weeks Bay when three of the passengers were thrown from the vehicle.
“All but one of those passengers made it safely to shore,” Maloy said.
The body of the male passenger was recovered just after midnight, Maloy said. He has yet to be identified.
The State Troopers Marine Division is heading the investigation into the accident. Other agencies responding included Daphne Search and Rescue, the Marlow Fire Department, the Barnwell Fire Department and the Orange Beach Fire Department.
