William Thomas Boland, 81, a native of Chicago, and a resident of Daphne, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Fairhope.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean conflict. He was a longtime fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ave Maria Coincil, Schiller Park, Ill.
He retired from Kodak with 38 years of service. After retirement, he and his wife relocated to Daphne in 1990. He became an active member at the Lake Forest Yacht Club, Inc and an avid golfer.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife LaVerne M. Boland of Daphne; four children, Kevin W. (Karen) Boland of Addison, Ill., Deborah M. (Laurence) Thomas of Granger, Ind., Patricia A. (Vincent) Miller of South Bend, Ind., Kim D. (Elliot) Clancy of Addison, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Bill Thomas of Chicago, Kevin Boland of Addison, Ill., Kara Utech of Batavia, Ill., Sara Thomas of Denver, Katie Boland of Addison, Ill., Jessica Johnson of South Bend, Ryan Carson of Addison, and Travis Miller of South Bend; and one great-grandson, Audric Johnson of South Bend.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
