Norma Smith Books, a native of Prichard and a resident of Daphne, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 in Daphne.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and faithful wife to her husband, David E. Books who preceded her in death.

As a child she attended First Baptist Church of Prichard.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort. Before retiring she worked for many years at First Baptist Church Day Care of Spanish Fort.

Survivors include a daughter Pam (Ronnie) Jones of Daphne; son Mike (Sandy) Books of Daphne; two sisters, Anita (Harold) Ritchey of Augusta, Ga., and Joyce (Harry) Hall of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren Deeanne (Frankie) Brewer of Daphne, Rej (Valerie) Jones of Daphne, Jennifer (Shane) Nolte of Fairhope, Ryan Books of Savannah, Ga., and Jenna Books of Savannah, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Makayla and Tyler Brewer, Kaley and Kaleb Jones, and Connor Nolte; special friend, Helen Seale of Spanish Fort; a multitude of other relatives and good friends.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne.
