Clayton W. Boone, 79, a native and resident of Little River for most of his life, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 in Uriah.

He was a veteran of the Korean War; a member of the Uriah Blacksher Masonic Lodge No. 593; a member of the Alabama Forestry Association; and attended the Mamie’s Chapel Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jeanette Boone and two sisters, Melba Boone and Shirley Pinter.

Survivors include six sons, Charles (Wanda) Boone, Clayton (Teresa) Boone Jr., Jeff (Angela) Boone, Donald Boone, Mark (Sara L.) Boone and Mitch (Charlene) Boone, all of Little River; two daughters, Lisa (Gary) House and Brenda (Randy) Watson, both of Uriah; six brothers, George Boone, Kenneth Boone, Leroy Boone and John Boone, all of Little River, Joseph Boone and Bernard Boone Jr. of Virginia; five sisters, Alma Woods of Atmore, Martha Holder of Pensacola, Fla., June Godwin of Little River, Deliah Boone and Donna Harry of Virginia; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 25 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Cornelius Phillips and the Rev. Scott Tharp officiating. Burial followd at Mamie’s Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were his sons, Charles Boone, Clayton Boone Jr., Jeff Boone, Donald Boone, Mark Boone and Mitch Boone. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Log a Load for Kids.

Arrangements were made by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, Atmore.
